01 — About us

Built by people who have run B2B commerce, not just launched it.

Ecommate exists because most ecommerce agencies treat B2B as B2C with a login page. We do the opposite: we start with your order book, your ERP and your procurement contracts.

Ecommate (Ecommerce Mate) is an independent B2B commerce practice. Our clients are industrial distributors, manufacturers, wholesalers and technology resellers — businesses where a single order can be worth six figures, where pricing is contractual, and where a broken ERP sync costs more in a morning than a website costs in a year.

We are deliberately not a generalist digital agency. Every discipline we hold in-house — commerce architecture, systems integration, product data, UX, accessibility, performance, analytics and managed operations — exists because B2B programmes fail at the seams between them. Owning the seams is the whole job.

We work under a single engagement model: senior people, on your programme, accountable for outcomes. No layers of account management, no offshore handoff you didn't sign up for, no deliverable that arrives without the reasoning behind it.

  • 100% B2B focus — manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, resellers
  • Company-to-company engagements only; we do not serve consumers or private individuals
  • Named senior consultants from first call to final handover
  • Fixed-scope discovery so you can approve budget with real numbers
  • Full documentation and knowledge transfer — you are never held hostage
02 — Vision & mission

To make B2B ordering as effortless as the best consumer experience — without breaking the systems behind it.

Business buyers increasingly expect consumer-grade digital. Businesses themselves cannot afford consumer-grade chaos in their ERP. Our entire practice is built around resolving that tension responsibly.

V

Our vision

A world where every B2B transaction — from a €200 reorder to a €2M framework contract — can be placed, tracked and reconciled digitally, with the same confidence as a bank transfer. Commerce should be an operational asset, not a marketing channel.

M

Our mission

To deliver B2B commerce programmes that survive their second year. That means clean data, documented integrations, measurable economics and teams on your side who can actually run the thing after we leave.

P

Our promise

Honest numbers before the contract, honest numbers after it. If a platform is wrong for you, we say so. If a project should be smaller, we scope it smaller. If something breaks, a named engineer is on the bridge.

01

Commercial before technical

We model margin, cost-to-serve and order economics before choosing a single technology. A beautiful storefront that destroys your sales team's margin is a failure.

02

Integration is the product

For most B2B businesses, the storefront is 30% of the work and the ERP, PIM and procurement connections are the other 70%. We resource accordingly.

03

Data quality is not optional

Bad product data is the single most common cause of B2B commerce underperformance. We treat catalogue governance as a permanent discipline, not a launch task.

04

Accessibility is a legal requirement

Public-sector and enterprise buyers increasingly require WCAG 2.2 AA conformance. We build to it by default and test with assistive technology.

05

Performance is a revenue lever

Every 100ms of latency and every unnecessary megabyte has a cost — commercially and environmentally. We set performance budgets and enforce them.

06

Own the outcome, not the hours

We commit to results and report against them. Retainers are for continuous improvement, not for keeping the meter running.

04 — Audits & assessments

Twelve independent audits. Fixed duration. Fixed price.

Most engagements start here. An audit gives you an evidence-based view of what is actually wrong, what it costs you, and what it would take to fix — before anyone proposes a rebuild.

How an audit runs

Week one is evidence gathering: analytics, server logs, codebase, ERP interface documentation, buyer interviews. Week two is analysis and scoring. The final session is a live read-out with your commercial and technical stakeholders in the same room.

What you can expect to find

Across 240+ assessments, the recurring themes are catalogue data decay, brittle ERP synchronisation, unmeasured checkout friction, missing procurement integration and performance regression on mobile. None of these are exotic. All of them are expensive.

If we are not the right fit

Roughly a third of audits conclude that the client's existing platform is fundamentally sound and only needs targeted remediation. We will tell you that plainly, hand over the plan, and let you execute it in-house if you prefer.

05 — Sustainability

Digital commerce has a physical footprint. We measure ours, and our clients'.

Every request, image, script and database query consumes energy. For a B2B distributor serving tens of thousands of buyers, that adds up. We treat carbon, performance and cost as the same problem — because they usually are.

−90%
Scope 1 & 2 emissions by 2030
Against a 2024 baseline of 118 tCO₂e, verified annually by an external auditor.
0.5 MB
Target average page weight by 2030
Lighter pages load faster, convert better and emit less. There is no trade-off here.
80%
Code reusability across clients by 2030
Reusable, well-tested components mean less new computation, less waste and faster delivery.

How we actually reduce footprint

Sustainability in digital commerce is not a badge or an offset purchase. It is an engineering discipline. We apply the same rigour to energy as we do to conversion.

  • Carbon-aware hosting — we specify and, where possible, migrate clients to regions with low grid carbon intensity.
  • Performance budgets as carbon budgets — page weight and request-count ceilings enforced in CI, not aspirational documents.
  • Image and media discipline — modern formats, correct dimensions, lazy loading and CDN edge delivery by default.
  • Query and cache efficiency — indexed ERP lookups, warm caches and sane TTLs instead of hammering the database on every request.
  • Extend, don't rebuild — we quantify the embodied carbon of a platform migration before recommending one.
  • Accessibility as inclusion — WCAG 2.2 AA conformance means more people can transact independently, on their terms.
  • Supplier standards — our hosting, logistics and software vendors are screened against an environmental policy.
  • Client reporting — annual digital footprint summary per storefront, so you can report it in your own ESG disclosures.

We speak to the systems your business already runs on.

A B2B storefront is only as good as its connections. Over 38 platform, ERP, PIM and procurement integrations are running in production across our client base today.

07 — How we work

Six phases. No black boxes. No surprise invoices.

Our delivery method is deliberately unglamorous. It exists to make sure that on the day you go live, nobody is discovering an integration requirement for the first time.

01

Discovery

We interrogate the commercial model before touching a single line of code. Buyer interviews, margin analysis, operational constraints, integration reality.

Week 1–2
02

Diagnosis

A scored assessment of platform, data, experience and operations — with the cost of inaction quantified in euros and hours.
